A guide to NDIS traineeships using group training

A new resource has been developed to help NDIS providers understand the GTO model and the benefits it can offer the sector. A guide to NDIS traineeships using group training was developed by the Community Services Industry Alliance on behalf of WorkAbility Qld as part of a Jobs Queensland-funded NDIS Workforce Research Project.

The research project found that the GTO model has much to offer NDIS providers as part of the sector’s efforts to build their future workforce. However, awareness of the GTO model amongst providers is low, as is the use of group training for disability support worker traineeships.

The guide represents a first step towards raising awareness of the GTO model amongst NDIS service providers. A report has also been provided to Jobs Queensland, which offers suggestions for further work to establish group training as a valuable part of the sector’s approach to workforce development.

Cedefop/OECD publication on apprenticeships

“The next steps for apprenticeship” was produced by the European Centre for the Development of Vocational Training (Cedefop), Department for learning and employability, under the supervision of Antonio Ranieri, and the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), Centre for Skills, under the supervision of Anthony Mann.

“The essays in this collection explore the megatrends that will continue to shape the labour market and societies that we live and work in. Drawing on insights from world-leading scholars based in many different countries, we are convinced that their insights will contribute to informing political decisions which shape the futures of the current generation of learners.”
