Release of background paper by apprenticeship strategic review

The Strategic Review on the Australian Apprenticeships Incentive System has released a Background Paper which provides a summary of relevant research and key challenges facing apprenticeships.

The paper is accompanied by the Provisional Reference List, which is a bibliography of the reviews, research papers, reports and other resources the Strategic Review has considered to date.

Interestingly for group training, the paper includes a section on apprentice completion rates and notes that, "apprentices employed through group training organisations tend to have completion rates 3 to 7 percentage points higher than those directly employed by small or medium-sized host employers, and 2 percentage points higher than large employers."
