DEWR Webinar invite - Skills Guarantee & Environmentally Sustainable Procurement

If you employ apprentices in the construction sector, you may wish to attend a webinar delivered by DEWR and the Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water (DCCEEW) on 9 July 2024 on two new Commonwealth policies that will commence from 1 July 2024 – the Australian Skills Guarantee (Skills Guarantee) and the Environmentally Sustainable Procurement Policy.  

This webinar will outline what these policies will mean for Australian Government suppliers of construction services. It will run from 12:30pm-2:30pm and will be split into two sessions. 

Session 1 

 12:30pm-1:30pm Tuesday 9 July 2024 

 DEWR - Skills Guarantee 

1. The discussion will include an outline of the policy, including information on the different targets, reporting and compliance requirements. 
2. A stakeholder Q & A session will be part of this discussion. 

Session 2 

1:30pm-2:30pm Tuesday 9 July 2024 

 DCCEEW – Environmentally Sustainable Procurement Policy 

1. The webinar will step through the Supplier Environmental Sustainability Plan templates and what sustainability information may need to be included as part of a tender response. 
2. The Green Building Council of Australia and Infrastructure Sustainability Council will outline the Green Star and Infrastructure Sustainability certification pathways to meet requirements.
